Fredbird was a very big hit at the Cardinals game. The smile on his face in the pictures below says it all! Tony said he laughed all the way to the car just thinking about Fredbird. Tyler called me when he got to the car, this is what he had to tell me....."Mommy, I pinched Fredbird in the bootie....(ha ha ha ha ha)"

Telephone Guys
Yesterday I had 3 men at the house switching us to DSL and ipTV. One of the guys was around my age and the other 2, I will call "Grandpa age." I was sitting on the living room floor playing with the boys and all 3 men were working on the living room tv. Here is my conversation with Tyler (from out of the blue):
Tyler: Take your shorts off Mooooom.
Me: WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Tyler: Take your shorts off Mom so they can see your underpaaaants!
Seriously...where does he come up with these things? I can't imagine what he would say if we didn't heavily censor his television consumption.
You can only imagine the look on my face at this point. All 3 of them pretended as if they didn't hear him but I'm guessing they were all telling the same story around their own dinner tables last night!

Mr. Sniffer
For those of you that don't know, I have a girl (college age) that comes and helps me out...plays with the boys, takes Tyler places, etc. She is great!!! Anyway, we both happen to have the same pair of Nike flip flops and a pair was sitting out on the laundry room floor this morning. Tyler asked me if they were mine or Lyndsay's....I said I didn't know but probably mine. At that, he picked them up....gave them a big sniff....and said, "Nope, they're Lyndsay's!" The best part....he was right! He does have a sensitive sniffer!!!

Bartering
Tyler got a wallet for Christmas from Mamaw and this past weekend Tony gave him $2 to carry in his wallet. Last night Tyler spotted Cole's Thomas the Train pajama bottoms and here's the conversation:
Tyler: I want those Thomas pajamas.
Tony: No...they are Cole's.
Tyler: I'll buy them.
Tony: You have any money (forgetting he had given him $2)
Tyler: Yep....(he ran to get his wallet and came back with the $2 and handed it to Tony)
I'm not sure what Tony said at this point because I wasn't here but from the looks of things below I think Tony was speechless at that point!

Cole in the Hospital
Poor little Coco was a very sick boy last week. His week in general wasn't very good as it started on Saturday when I weaned him from exclusively breastfeeding. He went on a 72 hour hunger strike and just when I thought things were starting to go better, he spiked a 104 temp. Then I noticed that his 2 top teeth were coming in. That's an awful lot in a short period of time!
Anyway, the fever was going up to 105+ at times and not coming down below 102...and I was alternating Tylenol and Motrin (the non-recalled of course). The doctor initially noticed a little fluid in his ear and thought that he might be coming down with hand, foot and mouth virus due to the way his throat looked. He prescribed him a Z-pak for his ear and sent us on our way. Two days later when the fever was still staying so high, I took him back in. I had called the office MANY times over the course of those 2 days, but when the nurse saw the thermometer read 104.3 under his arm, I think they finally realized I wasn't exaggerating. He wasn't completely dehydrated but was definitely on his way. The pediatrician decided our best bet was to send him to the ER where they could take blood and start an IV all with one stick. We took him to St. John's Pediatric ER - the pediatrician had already called to speak to the ped. on staff and they were practically waiting for us when we got there. She informed us they would also do a catheter to check for a UTI.
His urine showed a few white blood cells and a small amount of protein and his white count was perfect (big relief), so she was thinking probably a UTI but wouldn't know for sure until culture came back. They gave him 2 bags of IV fluids and that really perked him up. They also gave him a dose of a really strong antibiotic in his IV and sent us home with a prescription for a different antibiotic to start the next day. We had a follow up with his pediatrician on Saturday and the culture came back negative....this leaves his official diagnosis as VIRAL of course!!! He did finally perk up yesterday and is more like himself again.
Poor little guy had a rough week but was such a trooper through all of it. We are very thankful for the awesome nurse at St. John's....got his IV in one stick with no digging around. He's still working on getting the second tooth through on top and he is starting to like his bottles. Whew what a week....it was very stressful but I reminded myself many times how fortunate I am to be able to be home with my boys and not having to stress about work through all of this. Always searching for that silver lining!!!

New "Big Boy"
Everyone knows that Tyler has an infatuation with big trucks of all kinds. He refers to cement trucks as "big boys." About a year ago, my boss gave me a replica cement truck from a construction company we've done business with for Tyler to have as a toy. Needless to say he's played with it almost every day since....until a couple of weeks ago when I stepped on it and broke a wheel off. Oops!
So feeling guilty, I e-mailed my boss to see if there was any chance that maybe he had another one but he didn't and he told me they were a one time Christmas present. Of course I told him it wasn't a big deal and not to worry about it. One week later, I was forwarded an e-mail from Walsh Construction asking where to mail the new truck! Tyler was VERY excited when his new "big boy" arrived from the PUS (that's UPS in Tyler's world) Man. He was busy building new roads all day long. Thanks Paul!
