Standing Tall
At dinner tonight, I was telling Tony that after looking at some old pictures today, I realized that Tyler was standing up, etc. already at the age Cole is now. Then at bed time, I put Cole in his crib so I could go throw his diapers in the wash, when I came back I was very shocked to see this. The funniest part is how proud he was of himself!

Surprise
Evening Walk
Plastic Surgeon
Well much to my amazement, we were able to get in to the plastic surgeon (Dr. Jeffrey Marsh) on this past Tuesday. He's very well known in the field of Pediatric Plastic Surgery (travels all over the world correcting cleft and lip palates), so I assumed it would take weeks to schedule an appointment with him. However, when I called Monday, they had a cancellation and therefore availability for the next day.
He confirmed that the nevus sebaceous on Tyler's forehead does need to come off and even told us that they usually do turn cancerous once kids reach their 20s. Of course for the surgeon, this is a very simple procedure (15-20 minutes) and is perfect to perform while he is already under for the tonsillectomy.
Scheduling the co-surgery, on the other hand, proved to be quite a challenge....especially due to Dr. Marsh's crazy travel schedule. So, they finally decided yesterday it has to wait until June 23 at 7:00am. Good news is that it's first thing in the morning....bad news is that Mamaw will be out of town and Grandma Jean mentioned that this was one day she wasn't available! Isn't that how it always goes. Oh well, worst case I'll just strap Cole onto me and he'll just have to go along. I believe the tonsillectomy takes about 1 hour and then the forehead will take another 15-20 minutes. The real challenge comes when we get home and have to keep him relatively quiet for 3 weeks. The plastic surgeon emphasized how the incision will come open within the first 3 weeks if anything hits it. I'm already thinking that Tyler might have to get a Nintendo DS as a surgery present!
The best part of the appointment was at the end....Tyler told Dr. Marsh something he should or shouldn't do (don't remember exactly what it was) and here was their conversation:
Tyler: Don't do .......
Dr. Marsh: Are you a doctor?
Tyler: Yes
Dr. Marsh: Oh really, and where did you go to medical school?
Tyler: (in a very authoritative voice) PRESCHOOL!
Even Dr. Marsh had to laugh at that response!

Sitting Up
So Cole has been able to sit up for quite a while now and crawls around - in his own version of crawling - but hasn't been able to get himself into a sitting position.....until 2 days ago! These are pictures from right after he got himself up the first time....he was so proud! I was sitting in the chair and he just looked at me like, "wow I did it!" He hasn't quite mastered it yet, but is working on it. He often gets himself up on his hands and feet. I'm hoping to capture this on the camera soon as it's quite comical. It looks like he's doing yoga!

First T-Ball Practice
Tyler officially started T-ball yesterday. Daddy is one of the coaches, which is sometimes a good thing, sometimes a bad thing! For the most part he did well, just wasn't wanting to share taking turns getting the ball. This led to some pouting....which led to "getting a talking to" from Daddy. Hopefully next week is better and he figures out that they are all on the same team! It was fun to watch them as they are all so cute at this age.
Getting a little "pep" talk from Daddy!

Notice he's the only one that doesn't have his glove on!

What a Day!
No pictures today....I was too busy tending to crying children all day. I'm pretty sure one of them was crying at all times today. Cole either had teeth issues or is suffering withdrawal from the constant attention he had the past 5 days. Tyler.....he was just a mess! Not really sure but am hoping it was just exhaustion. He fell asleep in the recliner at 6:30 this evening after suffering a skinned knee and foot. Hopefully a good nights sleep will make for a much happier day for everyone tomorrow!
I called the plastic surgeon today and amazingly enough, they had an opening tomorrow. So, it's off to another dr. appointment tomorrow and hopefully we will be getting those tonsils out soon. I'll keep everyone posted!
