Being at home with two little boys is lots of fun. Everyday is crazy to some extent....there is giggling, crying and screaming and that is just within a 5 minute period! They make me laugh and bring lots of joy....hope they do the same for you!

Easter 2010

We had a wonderful Easter and were very blessed to have some of our family here....Mamaw & Papaw and Papa and Grandma Jean. The Easter Bunny was very good to Tyler...besides lots of candy he also got a set of "monster trucks," a carrot bat and ball, bubbles, a bubble wand, Toy Story DVD and a few other things. The monster trucks were definitely a big hit....that Easter Bunny always knows just what to get. When Tyler saw the bubble wand, he told me, "hey, that bubble wand came from Target!" I told him that the Easter Bunny has access to all toys! Can't sneak nothin' past that kid!!!

Tyler got to hunt eggs indoors first thing this morning and then again outside at lunch time. Instead of gathering the eggs quickly, he insisted on picking up one egg at a time, taking it back to his basket, opening the egg and telling us what was inside it, and then going to find another egg. I'm thinking his egg hunting tactics will change next year when Cole is hunting too!

Of course Tyler ate too much candy today, but once again, I am just so very, very thankful that he could have a regular Easter basket this year and eat all the candy he wanted. It's been almost 1 year since he was able to start having milk.....I'm still thankful for this every day and especially at Holidays.

My Little CoCo Bean

Is this not one of the cutest babies you've ever seen? I know I'm biased, but he is seriously adorable. He has many nicknames....CoCo, Sugar Bear, CoCo Licious, Cole Bud, Rolie Polie Colie, My Little Cup of CoCo....and my favorite and most often used....My Little CoCo Bean! Gosh I love this boy! He is so sweet and growing up way too fast. :(

Easter Table from Mamaw & Pap

Instead of giving all the grandkids baskets of candy this year, Mamaw had the brilliant idea of giving each of the kids money to pick out whatever they wanted. Since my nieces were down here earlier this week, we all went to Target one evening to pick out their gifts. Of course the girls picked out shoes and clothes - I loved it! Tyler wanted pretty much everything in the toy department....but since he already has every tractor and truck created (and these are the only things he really plays with inside), I had to pull the "mommy card" and tell him he was pooling his money with Cole and getting this sand/water table for outside. I figure Cole doesn't know the difference at this point anyway, and it won't be long until Cole is standing on his own and will be able to play at this with Tyler. As it turns out, Tyler loves the table and it was a big hit. Thanks Maam and Pappy! Happy Easter!

Daddy loves it too!

Tractor

My Aunt Jody gave Tyler this tractor last Fall....needless to say he LOVES it. It has been at my parents (because I never have room for it in the van), but with the beautiful weather we've been having I asked my Dad to bring it down. Tyler is having a blast riding it around the back yard...in fact, we might not need to mow it this whole summer because he will have it trampled down with the tires. Sometimes he pretends he's mowing....sometimes he pretends it's a combine....sometimes he pretends it's a hot rod and he's popping wheelies....you just never know! He has an awesome imagination, that's for sure. This morning he put on one of his cowboy boots and one of his John Deere boots and said, "Look Mommy, I'm a cowboy and a farmer!" He's definitely my little farmer!

I'm not even sure what is going on in this picture!

Last Day of Soccer

Today was Tyler's last day of Soccer Tots. Overall, he listened and followed instructions much better today. Unfortunately, my camera wasn't cooperating and my pictures didn't turn out that great. I tried every setting and nothing helped....I think the lights were too bright. I don't know.

Tonsils Tonsils Tonsils

Today, Tyler saw a Pediatric ENT regarding the size of his tonsils. I recently started suspecting sleep apnea....he snores very loudly, sleeps restlessly, has night terrors and sometimes night sweats. He also has white spots on his tonsils at all times and then most recently went through 2 rounds of antibiotics to get over strep throat. My suspicion was that the doctor would ultimately leave it up to us, however instead, he said that they needed to come out and didn't really leave us much choice. He also thought that there was a very good chance that the strep itself is what caused it recent EM (the crazy skin reaction) instead of the antibiotic.....therefore, it is even more important for us to remove the tonsils to reduce the risk of recurrent strep.

On another note, as many of you probably don't remember, Tyler was born with a mark on his forehead (nevus sebaceous) that has gotten smaller with time. It actually isn't noticeable to most people, however, once he hits puberty it will become very swollen again as it is triggered by oil production. It is also more prone to skin cancer so we want it to be removed. Since it is in the middle of his forehead though, we want it removed by a plastic surgeon to minimize scarring. And now, since he needs to be put under anyway, we are going to do both at the same time. Since we are fortunate enough to live near a city with such wonderful pediatric resources, there is a world renowned pediatric plastic surgeon at St. John's and the two doctor's are happy to coordinate and do both surgeries at the same time.

Needless to say, we aren't looking forward to him having surgery, but we are hopeful he will start sleeping better and perhaps get sick a bit less. We don't have a date yet but hopefully it will be sooner than later. We'll keep everyone posted.

Faust Park

On Wednesday afternoon, Tyler was surprised when not only Mamaw pulled into the driveway, but also Aunt Tashie, Riley and Sophie. He was very excited!!! On Thursday morning we all went to Faust Park in Chesterfield. They have a Butterfly House, an awesome playground and a carousel. The Butterfly House was really neat...unfortunately both of our camera batteries died right before we went in so we couldn't take pictures. But it was March Morpho Mania, so there were hundreds of big blue butterflies plus tons of others. They were all so beautiful. Then we went to ride the carousel...it is 90 years old and the fastest carousel in the U.S. The kids had fun but Mommy and Mamaw were starting to get dizzy by the end of the second ride! All in all, it was a very fun day and we were so happy to have our family in town for a few days.

Cole got to swing for the very first time. He enjoyed it so much he wanted to get Tyler's attention so he started saying, "Ty Ty!"
