Being at home with two little boys is lots of fun. Everyday is crazy to some extent....there is giggling, crying and screaming and that is just within a 5 minute period! They make me laugh and bring lots of joy....hope they do the same for you!

Cole at Tyler's Football Game

Cole was really good during Tyler's football game....even did some loud chants for Tyler - "GO TYLER GO!"  The home team had cheerleaders at the game (the Jr. Bulldogs will at their home games as well).  During the game, Cole insisted that I take the picture below....of the cheerleaders!

In the car on the way home, this is the conversation with Cole:

Tony:  Cole, what was your favorite part of Tyler's game?
Cole:   Ummmm....seeing the cheerleaders!

Priceless....just priceless!  Tony loved it of course....though he might feel a little different once his little girl is born this week. LOL

Tyler's 1st Football Game

Saturday, September 8, Tyler had his first football game with the Jr. Bulldogs.  Practice started back on August 4th, and let's just say it's been a long season already.  LOL  Tyler did not enjoy going to practice - in fact there were even a few temper tantrums involved!  However, when practice was over and he would get home it was as if football practice was the greatest thing ever!  Tony is helping coach of course - which I really am thankful for - makes me feel as if Tyler is safer.  His team is considered the 'Freshman' and is 6 & 7 year olds ranging from 50-70 pounds....I believe Tyler is maybe 53 now!

Anyway, it was finally time for the first game and we traveled to Chester to play the Stingers. Despite the chaotic start ....simply because they are 6 & 7 year olds and football is a complex game...the Jr. Bulldogs quickly scored a touchdown.  The Bulldog offense dominated which meant Tyler really didn't spend a lot of time on the field - he was playing Free Safety on defense.  However, despite his lack of interest up to this point, when he was on the field he seemed to really pay attention and ran in the right direction each time.  Daddy and I were very proud of him.

The Bulldogs ended up bringing home a 35 - 0 victory ....in the car on the way home Tyler even said, "I might not quit now!"  Daddy was beaming at the end of the game....I think it was a combo of being on the football field again, how well all the Bulldogs played and just Fatherly Pride!  I have to brag and say that Tony does such a good job with the boys...I am always very proud in the stands!

I also have to add my favorite parts of the game:
  • the boys look so little and cute in their uniforms with helmets bigger than their bodies
  • they look so little on that huge football field
  • when they run off the field....their little legs look as if they can't possibly move any faster
  • watching them try to get a drink of water (every 2 minutes) with the helmet on their head...this part is truly priceless :)

Dog of the Day

In Tyler's kindergarten class, each of the kids takes a turn being "Dog of the Day!"  This is a way for them to learn more about each other.  When your name is chosen to be 'Dog of the Day' you get to bring home Buster - the classroom bulldog - and then you get to take in pictures and a favorite toy, etc the next day.  Tyler was very lucky because his name was chosen on a Friday which meant he got to have Buster all weekend.  Tyler and Buster had a very busy and fun weekend.  You also submit a journal entry about your time with Buster....this was Tyler's:

After Buster and I got off the school bus on Friday, we played with my brother Cole and played Backyard Baseball on the Wii.  Buster shared my dinner - we had chicken fingers, fries and tomato soup from Applebees.  Since we ate a good dinner, my Mom baked us some brownies for dessert.  When it was time for bed, Buster got to snuggle me in my bed!

On Saturday morning, we got up and had Bulldog Cinnamon Bone Toast.  After we got our bellies full, we went to our friends' house to feed their two dogs since they were out of town.  Dakota and Huxley were really big compared to Buster.  On Saturday afternoon, Buster and I had to get ready for my first football game of the season.  We traveled to Chester to play against the Stingers.  I played Free Safety on defense and we beat the Stingers 35 - 0!  Buster cheered really loud for the Jr. Bulldogs!  After our big victory, we came home and celebrated with Pizza Hut - we even had cinnamon sticks!  The next thing we knew it was time for Buster and I to go to bed again.

On Sunday morning, the weather was so beautiful so Buster and I enjoyed our breakfast out on the screened in porch.  Then Buster watched me play baseball with my Dad in the backyard (of course I won!).  Sunday was also the STL Rams first game so we had a small party at home.  Buster and I ate nachos, chili dogs and bacon wrapped smokies for lunch.  YUMMY!  Since I already beat my Dad in a game of baseball, we played soccer in the backyard after the Rams game.  I won again!!!

All these activities wore us out and the weekend was over.  Buster sure had fun at my house and I loved taking care of him for the weekend.

Wash Tub Fun

The boys were out 'helping' Daddy in the yard on Saturday morning and I hear Tony holler that I need to come see something!  And there are my two boys in a big wash tub full of water.  They had been out to feed some friends' dogs....perhaps they got this idea from the dogs.  LOL

Cole's 1st Day of Pre-School

Today is Cole's 1st day of Pre-School.  He was very excited!  He is going to Power Haus Sports and Learning Academy, which is the same place Tyler attended all last year.  In fact, Cole also has Miss Nicole for a teacher.  Therefore, I think he feels very big going to pre-k as he calls it.  He's also super excited that he gets to play soccer at pre-k.  After watching big brother play organized sports for a few years, he's very anxious to get started doing the same.  Cole will be going to Power Haus on Tuesdays and Thursdays this year.  It just doesn't seem possible that he's old enough for this.  Thank goodness baby #3 is almost here to help Mom's empty nest feeling. :)

1st Day of Kindergarten

Today was the big day....the 1st day of the next 18 years of Tyler's life!  I simply cannot believe he is in Kindergarten already.  Where has the time gone?  We met his teacher yesterday - Mrs. Beck - and she couldn't have been any nicer.  He was super excited about going today (whew)!  And even more excited when he found out Daddy was going along to drop him off....AND we were taking the Jeep.  Riding to school in style for the first day - Pappy is smiling down I'm just sure of it.  Tyler even told me yesterday that maybe he should start going to bed at 7 o'clock so he'll be extra rested.  LOL

I am super anxious to hear about his first day.  I hope it was great and that he stays excited about school the entire year...and in the years to come!

Go Cards!

Tony took the boys to a Cardinal's game last Thursday, August 23.  Since I am in my 9th month of pregnancy, I decided to sit this one out.  At the end of the 2nd inning, the boys said they were ready to go!  Fortunately though, the Cards started getting a lot of hits and the boys stayed until almost the 8th inning.  Tyler is a HUGE Cardinals fan right now and was very excited to go to the game.  It was going to be a special day for him and Daddy, but since he's such an awesome big brother he insisted that Cole come along.  The night before I overheard this in the living room:

Tyler:  Cole do you want to go to the Cardinal game?
Cole:  YEAH!
Tyler:  Okay buddy...well I'm telling Daddy that if you can't go then I'm not going!

Priceless!  Love these boys (all 3 of them)!

So with baby #3 coming in 2 weeks, I decided that forget trying to catch up on the time I missed and start fresh.  So hopefully I'll be able to keep up after "little sister" gets here....wish me luck!
